Brick Rip and Dig strip back and reinstate external wall systems on remediation and refurbishment schemes across Merseyside and the North West. The work covers removal of existing cladding and external wall insulation, inspection and repair of the SFS frame and sheathing board, replacement of cavity barriers and firestopping, and reinstatement in brickwork, brick slip or new cladding. We work from scaffold under principal contractors on multi-storey residential and commercial buildings.
What cladding work covers
Cladding & EWI removal
Careful strip-back of render systems, external wall insulation, rainscreen panels and brick slip systems, floor by floor from scaffold.
SFS frame inspection & repair
Once the facade is open we expose the light gauge steel frame and sheathing board, record its condition and replace damaged sections and insulation.
Cavity barriers & firestopping
Removal of failed or missing cavity barriers and installation of compliant horizontal and vertical barriers to the fire engineer's detail.
Breather membrane & weatherproofing
New breather membrane, taping and detailing around openings so the wall is watertight before the outer skin goes back on.
Masonry reinstatement
Rebuild in matching facing brick, brick slip or new panel system, including lintels, cills, movement joints and wall ties.
Working as a subcontractor
We work under principal contractors on remediation programmes, with our own RAMS, trained operatives and a foreman on site.
How the job runs
The sequence matters. Most of what goes wrong on building work goes wrong because somebody skipped a step near the start.
Pre-start & access
Review the facade design, agree scaffold requirements and loading, and issue our RAMS to the principal contractor before mobilising.
Strip back in sections
Facade removed in manageable bays so the building is never left widely open, with debris chutes and protected drop zones below.
Open-up inspection
Frame, sheathing, insulation and cavity barriers photographed and recorded so the design team can confirm the remedial specification.
Rebuild the wall
Insulation, barriers, membrane and outer skin reinstated to the approved detail, with hold points for inspection before closing up.
Handover records
Photographic records, sign-off sheets and material data handed over for the building safety case file.

Do you work on cladding remediation schemes as a subcontractor?
Yes. Most of our facade work is delivered under a principal contractor on residential and commercial remediation programmes. We provide our own method statements, risk assessments, trained operatives and site supervision.
What happens if the SFS frame is corroded once you open it up?
We stop, photograph and record it, and report to the design team. Damaged frame sections, sheathing board and insulation are replaced to the engineer's remedial detail before the wall is closed back up. Nothing gets buried.
Can you match existing brickwork when reinstating a facade?
Yes. We source facing bricks to match the existing blend and match the mortar colour and joint profile. On listed or conservation buildings we agree a sample panel with the architect before proceeding.
Do you provide records for the building safety case?
Yes. Open-up photographs, inspection sign-offs, material data sheets and installation records are compiled and handed over at completion.
